Childhood
Msgr. Morgan Rowsome was born in County Wexford, Ireland, May 5, 1943 to the late Pierce and Ita Rowsome. He has three brothers and two sisters. Msgr.. Morgan was educated at St. Patrick Elementary School in Monageer, Christian Brothers’ High School in Enniscorthy, and St. Peter’s College in Wexford.
Ordination
Msgr. Morgan entered St. Peter’s Seminary in 1964 and was ordained for the Diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas on May 31, 1970 by Bishop Donald J. Herlihy.
Assigments in the Diocese of Corpus Christi
Prior to becoming a pastor, Fr. Morgan served the Diocese of Corpus Christi in the following assignments:
- Assistant Pastor at Most Precious Blood Parish
- Chaplain to Newman Club at Corpus Christi University
- Chaplain to Newman Club at Del Mar College
- Assistant Pastor at St. Pius X Parish
- Assistant Pastor at Christ the King Parish
Pastor of Other Parishes in the Diocese
Fr. Morgan was the priest in charge of San Martin de Porras Mission in Laredo, Texas from 1977 to 1979. He was appointed the first pastor of this parish in 1979 and served in that capacity until 1992.
He served as pastor of St. John of the Cross in Orange Grove, Texas from 1992 until August of 1993 when he took a three month Sabbatical at Marianella Pastoral Institute in Dublin, Ireland, called Priests’ Renewal Program.
Pastor of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Parish
Upon his return to the Diocese of Corpus Christi, he was appointed pastor of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Parish in Corpus Christi in February of 1994 and has served in that capacity since then.
In April of 2007, Bishop Edmond Carmody announced that Pope Benedict XVI named Fr. Morgan, along with five other priests from the Diocese of Corpus Christi, as Chaplain to His Holiness, with the title of "Monsignor" for his years of service.

Hobbies
He enjoys playing golf, relaxing at Lake Corpus Christi, visiting his sister Catherine, her husband and family in San Antonio and Dallas, listening to Irish music, watching sports and telling jokes.
